“and just like that”

Peter – on behalf of 93.7% of mechanics out there . . . there ain’t no ‘just like that.’

I love Churchill but honestly, he copied his mechanics mantra and get credit for it:  ““I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat.”

You done good.  You persevered and it looks very nice.

Congratulations.

Doug

And just like that, it works.

I did look through the workshop manual and the wiring diagram was buried deep within it (thanks Cody!).

So the four wires were easy enough to trace. Black = ground, Green = switched 12V, Blue/Red = 12V hot all of the time and Pink = rheostat circuit. Checking them with my voltmeter showed proper conditions, power wise, except the Pink wire, which traces out to the dimmer switch. Plugging it in and powering it up and it works!

Funny, but when turning the dimmer switch, the clock display gets slightly brighter, so I don’t know what’s up with that. I’m not sure I want to tear this thing anymore apart, because it is a functioning clock now (what I wanted to begin with).

And the turn signal switch is repaired and functioning too.

Onwards...

Peter
