Just adding to your databank - even my 1954 Jag has a dual braking system. Granted, they are all
drum brakes, but still....
Alternatively, the '67 Beetle I got last summer was the first year for a dual braking system in that car. But again, all drums....

There is redundancy in every major car out on the road today. You would have to be driving a early 60?s car to be concerned about loss of all braking effectiveness. |
