It was a huge step up for Ferrari. Ferrari has to be given credit because it was a phenomenal packaging job. I really studied my car after buying it and I’m amazed at how compact that entire drivetrain is (comparing it to my 308 GT4).

I saw that car and the brown PPG car that was in the movie “The Wraith” with a young Charlie Sheen at Portland International Raceway at an Indy Car race somewhere between 1985 and 1987. I was impressed by the
drivetrain longitudal instead of transverse.

a private tour and there was no way I was going to miss that! It’s a real cool car and is very impressive in person. Not only was it a special one-off but it was also the prototype for the 348 drivetrain. If the opportunity to buy that car would come up, I
will get it in an instant.

You appreciate unique and history. Not everyone does. Some people need a car that affirms to themselves and everyone else that they are still young and "the man".
You’re taking it at face value. It’s not “ugly”, it’s the camouflage they put on the car as it was a prototype. It’s supposed to be “ugly”.
It could be driven but that’s not the point of this. It’s a collectible. It’s the only one they made.
