This is the best Michael! Congrats!

We’ll see each other then! I got word from Ferrari of Quebec that my car has been delivered and I’ll pick it up on Monday. I’ll be touring around for a week in Ontario before heading up to Mt Tremblant.

I’ll look forward to meeting you and seeing your car. My plate is just a plain, general issue – MJ6 76S (British Columbia).

What ?

i don’t know what you mean. Pantera site ?

I was not going to mention it before sunday but since you did………. my Ferrari is ready.

I’m getting it on sunday morning. My ‘second’ mechanic (the real Ferrari mechanic said it could not be done without taking the engine out) DID IT. He also happens to have the exact same Ferrari that I do. So, I trust him. I’ll drive around for a couple of hours sunday to make sure. He took the outer bearing out without taking the engine out. He just broke the old bearing, took it out and put the new one in.

I’m ready for Mont-Tremblant. Those of you who are interested to know more, my plate says “PROVA” (Quebec plate)

Michel,

That picture looks like the bearing has been installed. It is a thing that has the writing on it. The reason he couldn't get that cover off was because like we said after you takeoff the oil pan you have to reach up in there and unbolt the oil pick up tube. No matter I can't be 100% sure but I think that outer bearing was the one that failed, not the inner one  so hopefully this will get your car back on the road shortly! Can you ask your mechanic to see the bearing that he removed, and ask him whether it was broken before he removed it?  maybe post a pic?  Im off to play in N Ireland….

Remember a few months ago my mechanic said he’ll need to take the engine out to change the outer bearing (because it was moving about 1/8”) and some of you said it can be done without taking the engine out. My second mechanic tried and tried but just could not separate the cover from the engine. All the bolts were out, the oil pan was off but that cover was stuck solid and he gave up after trying every which way. He was too afraid to break something.

So, he decided to take the bearing out of there with the cover on. It worked. Now, the new bearing is at the border waiting for clearance and he is confident he’ll put that new bearing in with the cover on. Here is the picture I took today without the bearing (on the left side or back of engine).

I’ll keep you posted
