Autonomous drones don't know when NOT to shoot.

Remote drone controllers can't see everything a human in the cockpit can with a turn of the head.

GLOC can be beat... to a point.

Or... why do we need drivers in race cars?

Jockeys on horses...

Why do people need to climb mountains.

Jump off tall buildings

Sometimes you just need to put your pearls down and let people do the hard/dangerous stuff.

I can understand that humans will perform better in dog fighting, but without a human in the bird, why bother dicing it up in the first place? Or even in the times of current fights, these newer planes can achieve maneuvers that will knock out a pilot with all of the forces induced on the body. Still too risky.

Lockheed has fallen for sure.  Not the same company that designed and built the F-22.  But it isn't like the competition is much better.  How late and over budget was Artemis?  And it isn't like Lockheed has screwed up everything.  They appear to be well ahead in directed energy.
