I finally got to try to fix my door lock after about 8 years of not bothering in one of my winter projects.

Here is my question: On the first picture (right door), you can see a sort of white plastic clip holding on a rod. That plastic clip is clearly broken on the driver’s door (see second picture just above the piece of tape I put). Can it be just that ? What else should I look for ?

I haven’t had time to charge the battery, so I didn’t test it before writing this email. Thanks for your help.

My second question is, why are my doors so dirty (third picture of left door) ? I just can’t believe how dirty they are. I was going to put some sound shield on, but I’ll need a lot of time to clean that mess. I have had the car for 22 years. How did they get so messy ?
