Yeah, I heard the same thing about Hamilton and he was swearing up and down this weekend he wasn't... and his Management team wasn't trying to get him to Red Bull.   ...But his dad was.

IMHO....   I've always believed Hamilton is not an exceptional driver unless he is in an exceptional car.  He is able to extract the most a car has to give.

But drivers like Clark, Stewart, Scheckter, Senna, Lauda, Schumacher (and perhaps a young Alonso) can extract more from a car than it has to give.  Perhaps Verstappen is of that ilk as well.  Time will tell.

Hamilton hasn't won anything in 2 years... if he is going to win, his only chance is to be in the best car.   So sending dad to do his bidding is the best option...  until Toto spilled the beans on Pops.

Mr. Garven... I always call my elders Mister or Sir.  You know... like You and Clyde.  ;-)
(j/k  you know I love ya Rob!)

Won't hurt to send Ferrari a letter and pictures of your Enzo Shrine and let them know you are coming and when... they just might open the doors for you.

Rick and all,

Obviously you have the team, you have the car, you have the driver. And everything contributes to the success, or not in the races. I like decent drivers so I actually like Perez, but maybe he's not as good as Verstappen. This is where I wish we could do one of those tests that we never could, and put in Verstappen in a Haas and putting one of the Ferrari drivers in the Red Bulls to see what happens…

Remember when Ferrari was doing really good there for a patch, and it turned out that they were supposedly cheating. I think that's what Red Bull is doing! ha
I read that Hamilton is trying to go to Red Bull, because he's another guy that thinks he's the cats pajamas!

You guys have to remember this is a Ferrari List, and I am Ferrari guy, so unless Ferrari is winning, there's something wrong in the universe, and most likely not their fault! Haaa

Rob  (not Mr Garven! HA)

The band is finally playing in Italy, I think in November. How hard would it be for me to get a visit at the Ferrari Factory. I have three Italian friends that we're going to show us around that part of Italy, do you think it's possible I could get them and also along with myself and my wife?

Like Mr. Garven Jr. I am no fan of Mr. Verstappen as an F1 driver or a person...
And I'm in no position to criticize anyone's looks... But Max is good.
And yeah, Perez is number two in points this year.
But Max has double the points of his #2 teammate.  Basically 600 to 300.
Red Bull with Max's dominance has more team points than Mercedes (2) and Ferrari (3) combined... 860 to 815
Sergio's average finish this year was almost 6th.
So the car isn't helping Sergio much.
Max could have sat out the last 6 races and not been caught in the points.

I think the only thing that keeps Sergio at Red Bull after the off season is so many of the other drivers being locked into 2024 contracts.

And going back to the original point, if you watch the intervals in fast speed... well, you'll see

Perez finished 4th because he had a 5-second penalty.

Isn't Perez second? That would indicate the car has something to do with it .

OK, probably not a spoiler but didn't want anyone's nerves getting frayed... and this IS for those who have the race recorded.

I've done this the last 5 or 6 races and find it telling.   When *I* watch the F1 events I usually watch the on screen racing and occasionally will look at the position board on the left hand side of the screen.  The numbers Max puts down are always growing but sometimes imperceptibly so.   If you have a DVR system with the ability to playback recorded events at faster rates than normal...  try something like 15x playback speed.  Don't watch the action on screen, but watch Max's numbers while they are showing the intervals.   Once he puts his mind to it, the numbers just climb steadily...  very little ebb and flow... just tic, tic, tic and the hundredths of a second in the interval between him and whoever is following just marches on, regardless of his position on the track.  He just pulls away from everyone at a fairly constant pace.   He is truly the best at the current moment.  Perhaps it is the car... but Perez isn't doing as well.
