The issue probably stemmed from too much of that oil accumulating on the sensing wire. At shut down, there is a circuit which heats the wire to red hot and this burns off any crud and residue that will accumulate. But too much and then it'll just bake on.

I guess you sprayed a ton of brake cleaner in it?

If you have a rough idle most likely it your air mass sensor

My oil was over filled and vapor was drawn into the intake system.

It’s a pain to remove and clean
