| I use to use Baldwin for my 328 but I don’t think there are any alternatives for the 512tr….. I don’t believe there is a Fram or Baldwin alternative….. ( if I’m wrong please let me know). The filter is a conventional mounting so an anti drain back valve isn’t required, the filter is not mounted upside down like on my 328 and my 400i….

I never used Fram (UFI until the big problem, then Baldwin) but I always remember that the “01” was important because it signified the anti-drain back valve that was needed for the top mounted filter location.
Secondly I remember their reputation suffered a big drop many years back after the company was bought but I have no idea if the quality is back to what it was.
What is the current price on Baldwin filters? I had only heard good things about them and they seemed to work well for me.

Sent from my iPhone I used the FRAM PH 2804-1 (-1 is not always written) for 24 years in my 1981 308 GTSi. I’ve always noticed that FRAM PH 2804-1 (red filter) goes in A LOT if not all Ferraris when looking at pictures of different Ferraris even from the 60s. When you look at pictures from different decades of Concours events, you often see those red filters.

I just noticed that the price of an oil filter for my 512tr has gone from 150.00 pounds (plus tax at 20 or 25%) to 327.00 pounds plus tax…….. Thankfully I have one spare one I bought two month ago at the cheaper price. Both Marenellos and Superformance have the same price for a UFI….. so the guys in the USA are paying this ( with a weaker dollar) , and tariffs and shipping and tax….. for an oil filter? It must be over 500.00 USD …… I’m use to Ferrari prices being nuts but ……..
Superformance has there on brand filter for about 30 pounds but I have no idea the quality, etc. And I’m guessing there are no other options… Britt in Sweden Sent from my iPad
