Yeah, oddly that’s true!
I did some research and found a series of post on Ferrari Chat that seemed to indicate that the oil filter for a 599 should fit and work fine for the 512TR. Plus those filters are only about £60 so that’s six times less than the cost of the UFI 512TR filter. Just in general does anyone have an opinion if there’s any harm in fitting a different filter than the one specified exactly for the 512TR? The 599 is actually a bigger engine so it will handle plenty of oil and the fitting of the threads and diameter seems to be the same and it’s only slightly longer (7 mm) so it will fit as far as I can tell. It’s made by Purflex for the Ferrari 599 so it must be a quality filter. Any opinions on this?

I think what Britt's really trying to say here, is that his oil filters are worth more than the Mondial pictured in Clyde's original post!  hahaha....

I just noticed that the price of an oil filter for my 512tr has gone from 150.00 pounds (plus tax at 20 or 25%) to 327.00 pounds plus tax…….. Thankfully I have one spare one I bought two month ago at the cheaper price. Both Marenellos and Superformance have the same price for a UFI….. so the guys in the USA are paying this ( with a weaker dollar) , and tariffs and shipping and tax….. for an oil filter? It must be over 500.00 USD ……  I’m use to Ferrari prices being nuts but ……..

Superformance has there on brand filter for about 30 pounds but I have no idea the quality, etc. And I’m guessing there are no other options…

Current bid of $550 seems like all the money for a Mondial VIN plate. Not to mention transportation and disposal fees.

Seriously, is there anything remotely salvageable there, not even a transaxle or long block that has been in an oven?
