Not having the benefit of a kilt or crest of my own, can I assume that a steamy
day in Scotland is like 48 degrees F?

Yes, A/C is working. It's perfectly adequate for for handling a hot steamy
day in southern Scotland. I'm guessing that I can get by and throught he
winter then have the whole system replaced next spring.
