Both are perfectly legal for sale...though the Black Talon was discontinued
in that form many years ago...it was reincarnated in another form...but I
forget the name...no more "talons" though...but they were of dubious value
anyway.

I have used an HK .45 before but find that any .45 is just too large and
heavy to carry on a regular basis. How is the HK .40? My main weapon
is a Glock 40 cal. with a Walther PPK-S for an occasional backup. My
load in each is either Glaser safety slugs or Black Talons. Have a
stash of each since I don't believe either have been legal for sale for
a while!

one when I'm on duty. God knows it's light years ahead of the piece of crap
Beretta I used to carry, even if it is still in that supremely useless 9mm
ball load that the military shackles us with. When off-duty I carry H&K USP
.40 (with Federal Hydra-Shok loads... screw that FMJ ball crap) that I love;
that thing is an absolute tack driver, always spot on, haven't had a single
misfeed or stoppage in any way, shape, or form. Spent some time in Iraq
running around with an MP5; other than the fact it was a 9mm, that baby was
damned-near perfect. I used to have a USP .45 Compact that I sold to a
buddy before I deployed, now I'm doing everything in my power trying to
convince him to sell it back to me. I tried offering my first-born, but he
said he doesn't want to wait that long until he can cash in on whatever I
trade him. Bastard.
