As bad as your last sentence sounds on the F-list I agree with you
completely!

I have experienced every known 355 issue except the valve guide problem: 1) Melted headers (rebuilt by QVLondon) 2) Bad seat sensors (3 times, spiders only) 3) Leaking shocks (rebuilt by Delta V) 4) Melting interior (will probably replace with Valence carbon fiber) 5) Alternator Issue (ground strap added)
Plus a couple that are rare: 1) Broken timing belt (my fault for waiting so long) 2) Broken valve springs (bad luck)
Luckily all of the common problems have been irritating but not disabling, but if I were shopping for a 355 I would either make sure the above issues have been addressed or I would put aside a serious chunk of change for addressing them. I will probably have spent $10k on stuff to make this car the way Ferrari should have made it by the time I'm done. If you count the rare items, more like $25k.
I still love the car, but if I had it to do over again I would probably wait another couple of years and buy a depreciated Gallardo spider. My experience with my Diablo leads me to believe Lamborghini is head and shoulders above Ferrari in terms of build quality and engineering. Flame on!
