Coming Changes in F1 Regs:
1. the engine freeze per the 10/06/2006 specs of the Japanese GP is a go. (ugh) Revs to be limited to 19,000.
2. Bridgestone will provide Red and Black tires a la Champ Car, Both sets must be used during the race. I have no idea what the difference is between the two sets. Someone?
3. the split rear wing (see picture at .url listed below) aimed at decreasing backwash and increasing passing is on hold until 2009 while alternatives are examined. Hey guys, how about bigger tires and smaller wings? I suspect because we all know what MARLBORO stands for but MALB. is more confusing.

09.19.06 F1: Radical Aero Changes on Hold
While I'm still on the soapbox someone in CAR suggested that the true successors to the classic race-cars-driven-on-the-street like the TDF and the 250 SWB are not Ferraris or Maseratis. They are the WRC replicas by MItsubishi, Subaru etc. The factories no longer race Ferraris and Maseratis aside from F1, which you need a crew just to start the damn things.
Perhaps Corvette, which is very actively raced by GM. Perhaps Aston Martin. But not Ferrari or Porsche: those GT3s are all privateers are they not?
