Hi Tom,
  The 'magnetic' shocks require quite a bit to operate.  Like a computer, wheel 
speed sensors, harnesses.  I don't think you'll ever see an aftermarket 
replacement........(except from J.C. Whitney..tee hee), that'll ever work 
properly.  A bunch of sensors, all input to a computer to tell the shock when, 
and how much to stiffen, many times per second.

I sent this to the Mercedes list, as I was asking about, well, you'll see from 
the below, but I got zero answers, maybe someone on the Ferrari list would know 
if something is available aftermarket for any cars, let alone my poor 300E.

Are the magnetic shocks/ECU, etc. available for older model cars yet?  
Cost/lifespan information wanted, car in question (of course) is my '88 300E.
Saw the "Ultimate Factory" show on the Ferrari factory last night, basically an 
infomercial for the new 599 Fiorano, but they had a blurb in the show about the 
magnetic shocks. Found out that the Corvette had them available for the '02 MY 
(not all the Corvette models) and that the new Audi TT will have them 
available, 
as do now some of the Cadillacs and the Buick Lucerne CSX, etc.  Anyone 
(Randy?) 
know if these are available for our cars yet?
