Sometimes you need to just let it go.

I met a guy last summer at a (somewhat) local cruise night that takes place
every other Thursday night at the Hemmings Motor News Garage who was proud
of the fact that he had Fiero based 308 replica. He started talking to me,
since I had the (real) 308 there.

Seems he owned a real one at one point, but sounded like he was kind of
afraid of the maintenance and other issues, so was much happier with the
replica.

Whatever floats your boat.

Jeff

Subject: [Ferrari] My experience with a kit car owner.......!

Met this car dude through a friend the other day. Pretty cool guy who owns a
mid '90s Z28.....only issue is was that he was proud he owned a Fiero based
Diablo kit car....I didn't call him out on it or tease him, but I also
didn't acknowledge it in a positive way.One of those situations were you
hope the topic of conversation is changed so you won't have to unleash the
beast or god forbid accidentally praise the individual!! Never thought I'd
be confronted with a kit car owner......How would you guys have reacted?? I
remember at Poconos '00, seeing a 308 GTS kit car in the parking lot, and
dropping a business card full of disparaging comments through the
window.........I think I went easy on him because he is 20 years old and was
very complimentary of my car. Sometimes you just have to let these guys get
away.....no? :-) -- FG
