That is a point to remember. 
 
At the early height of automotive history many of the most prestigious  
marques generally made only chassis and then sent them on to coachbuilders to  
complete the car. Many one off vehicles of historical significance were built  
this way.  And additionally, in the 1930's particularly, automobiles were  
acquired for their chassis and then rebodied by coachbuilders to the one off  
needs 
of the buyer.
 
Where does OEM end and replica begin in cases such as this?
