And don't forget the many Lotus 7 clones - most of which are far superior to the original. While you could argue that the Caterham is a continuation of the original, very little is left of the Lotus design. Suspension, drivetrain, body, etc. are all different. Just the nostalgic shape remains.

Those are the Kirkham models and they are of excellent quality. In fact, the quality of those and the Superformance units are considered to be much better than the original. The repli-Cobra crowd seems to be torn between pros and cons of the variety of options available to them.
The Superformance and Kirkhams are considered the best of the true replicas...meaning they are the highest quality and closest to resembling the "originial". The Factory Five cars share much less in common with the originals but offer a lot of modern engineering updates (chassis, crash protection, safety items, etc.). Then you have the lesser companies that aren't very close to the originals and very dangerous to drive.
If you scour ebay and the classifieds sites, you'll see many "tributes" to original Cobras and muscle cars. Though clearly marked as not original, there is still much deception that is implied.
Ford and Shelby are all in the midst of planning lawsuits against these companies.
