You probably got the IE7 update in your last auto update of your system. I suspect that enough changed there over IE6 that McAfee needs to be updated as well, or the IE registry guard turned off. Alternatively, you should be able to uninstall the IE7 portion of the update and go back to IE6. I wouldn't recommend that--IE7 is pretty good, IMO of course. I don't use any of that spyware/malware/adware auto detection shit. I run as a plain user w/o administrative privileges, except when I have to in order to install/uninstall software or otherwise modify the system. This works way better than a piecemeal solution.
