Ok, I'll admit it....ashamedly, but it's true. I've had a minivan for
almost three years now (purchase price was more than either the Rolls I used
to have or the Rolls I presently have or the Ferrari I used to have or the
Ferrari I have now or the Jag I used to have or......well, whatever....).
On top of that, it has the laser cruise control. Hey, she wanted the
loaded minivan, it was on the lot, we bought it. It's a neat idea (laser
detectors notwithstanding), but annoys the heck out of me.

Our normal commute is on a mildly traveled 4 lane highway. I generally
drive, well, slightly above the average speed of traffic. I also like to
stay in the right lane until it's time to pass. So I'm cruising along, and
just as I put on the left turn signal indicator to move over, I get close
enough to have the laser cruise control to take evasive measures....real
convenient. Just as I go to cruise around, I slow down as I get into the
left lane. Those other left lane inhabitants just LOVE that.

But that's a minor offense compared to the Infiniti.

At least the falsing from the GM SUVs are relatively localized - have to
be
behind them, with them BRAKING, at relatively close range.

Whereas the FRAKKIN' LASER CRUISE CONTROL on the Infiniti FX (Q45s and/or
M35s too?) will set off the laser detector from a half mile away.

ARRGH. Typical scenario: casually cruising down the highway. Braaaap.
Brake, Defcon 5, adrenaline, horizon scan. Invariably, it's a frakkin'
FX45
going the other way. Arrgh.

Man, if my car was equipped with a BGM-71 TOW missle...

Vty,
