Any noise or weeping to indicate a problem? Can you move the shaft side to side
indicating any excessive tolerance? If not and you do plan on a major soon, I'd
say forget it.

But, while you're in there...you might as well replace to avoid a surprise. If
it were an older collectible car where date codes and originality are
paramount, I'd remove the original part, have it rebuilt and save it. Since
we're talking about 328s, this may not be a concern for you.

I had a leaking rear differential cover turn into a major suspension upgrade
including coilovers as a result of the "while you are in there" mentality.

It can get pricey! :)

Regarding materials for car parts and/or music, the answer is always METAL!

Good luck,

LS

Subject: [Ferrari] Changing water pump

Hi listers,

I'm considering changing the water pump on my 328, while I'm at it. I can't
find in the records when it was last changed and it sure looks like it's
there for a long time!
The car does not overheat, far from it.

Any advice as to:

- change it and forget about it
- any issues about getting a new one ? (plastic vs metalic propeler, etc)
- leave it and change it next year, together with the belts?

Thanks,

Rui
