Way back when I worked for a living and just didn't sit around playing on my computer must of the day while collecting retirement checks the first of every month, I used to get back large refunds every year from FedGovCo. to be used every summer to fund trips abroad. After filing in mid-March, I booked a trip to Europe to attend a Grand Prix race in August. When June rolled around, with no refund, I sent out inquiries to the status of my refund. No response from FedGovCo. Finally I cancelled my trip and wrote my senator (Barry Goldwater) and the refund showed up 2 weeks later in mid-August with no explanation. No hello, no goodby, no kiss my ass! To say that I was displeased would be like comparing an H-Bomb blast with a beer fart! Needless to say, FedGovCo had to threaten me with prison before I sent anymore of my hard-earned dollars to them. So many of our rights have been slowly taken away from us in increments that most people don't notice the total sum that it has become. Why do you think taxes are taken out of peoples paychecks instead of having them write one or two checks per year? It's because THEN people would realize that the Government has more spendable money from your income than you do! And people would stand up in revolt. Instead, people get excited when they get a "tax refund," even though they fail to realize that they have just given the IRS an interest free loan for the last 12 months. It's YOUR money, why are you excited to have someone else hold it for a year and then give it back?
