I agree to an extend but how much of this stuff was really in need of maintenance? As opposed to "well while your in there".... I'm not saying that the owner was ripped off or that the repairs were not legit, but it does give me pause to see stuff fail with little or no mileage accumulated. Granted I have no idea how the car was treated when it was driven but never the less does seem excessive. Looking at the total that Michael Sheehan notes for ownership cost, it appears that about 20,000 of it was either warranty or personalization. Why not publish an article that is more objective about ownership costs? Guess that doesn't sell magazines? Almost everything in that article was voluntary repair. The only real issues were mostly covered by warranty. The ones that weren't were not anymore money than taking a mercedes or some other high end car in for service.
