Hey Ken: The only 'Bernie' story I have is when der Frau and I went to the Austrian GP in the mid-1990's and stayed in Graz, about 50 k's north of the former Yogoslavia. They were just finishing up one of their civil wars, and one night before the race, a man came up to me and offered to sell me a Soviet made RPG for $100 usd. I passed on it that night, only to have Bernie fly over me at 300 ft in his private chopper while I was still in the track parking lot. I knew it was Bernie because the track announcer was telling the crowd of his arrival at that time. DAMN, I would have given $1,000 to have that evil little troll in the cross-hairs! Yer Ferrari pal, Bubba -----Original Message----- From: rentiers [at] mac.com Subject: Re: [Ferrari] 550 cost of ownership? Maybe 'Rodham' is just 'Mosley' spelled backwards. Wiili, tell the one about Bernie Ecclestone, the Troll under the Dunlop Bridge and the bucket of gold! ken On Jan 24, 2007, at 2:28 PM, red5hilser [at] aol.com wrote: Hey Ken: No, it's NOT Hillary. It's 'Mad Max' Mosley of F1 fame. His father, Sir Oswald Mosley, founder of Britian's 'Black Shirts' and the entire family were thrown into prison in 1940 and released only after the war in late 1945.. Max was only 4 months old (1940) when Sir Winston had him fitted for his own little striped suit. Max's parents were good friends with Der Fuhrer, and A.H. even attended their wedding reception. This might partially explain why F1 is so screwed up these days. BTW, if you don't believe me ... look it up. Yer 'history buff' pal, Ferrari Bubba Been there. [Rant]The E39 radiator expansion tank hose fitting cracks without exception between 50 - 65K. This is because the Germans are in love with recycling, and use recycled parts including recycled plastic coolant tanks which become brittle after 'n' heating/cooling cycles and crack. Seems to me it would be a more efficient use of resources to make the damn things right in the first place than to make parts that must be replaced several times over the life of the car.
