Hi Gavin:

Congratulations on your decision to take the plunge! Life is too short and
you will enjoy the experience, including the hunt for your car, immensely. I
have been a member of Ferrari List since 1997 and you will find a wealth of
information and expertise from the members here.

I don't have any particular insights or experience with the 308s, but I have
owned and enjoyed a 1983 400i for the past 8+ years. Since you mentioned
contacting a dealer in Connecticut, I am in southwestern Connecticut and could
possibly at least take a look at any cars that you find local to me.

Have fun with your search!

John

Hiya Ferrari people,

I am after some help and advice!
At age 38 I have finally decided to follow my life long dream and get a
Ferrari.
Buying one in the USA and shipping it out of LA to NZ is looking like my
best option..... But I would be intersted in other options, maybe the UK or
Austraila etc?

I have joined a number of Ferrari news groups and subscribed to the Ferrari
market letter and contacted a dealer in Connecticut.

I am after a 308GTB, with carbs, in steel..... (steel just because the glass
ones I have seen have been much more $$$)
MUST have been red and tan from the factory orginally

I want to buy a "good" car, running car to use, not show, service history or
most of it, need not be restored and as I am a professional painter, paint
condition does not worry me.

Mileage worries me less than condition and seivce history.
I am flexable on price as I appreciate that the condition and service
history and any number of other factors dictate the market value.

I have given myself 12 months to find and buy the "right" car.

I look forward to any comments advice or offers of a cars!

Regards
Gavin,
New Zealand
