A couple of comments:
1. I was on an Alaskan cruise a year or so ago. One afternoon at sea a scientist who specialized in glaciers gave a talk, complete with slides, etc. She commented that one glacier had retreated *10 miles*, and that it was due to global warming. But here's the best part: The not-so-liberal scientist said that most of the melting of this glacier occured in the early 1800's, and she said that she, "doubts that this was caused by SUV's". LOL.
2. Ocean rising is largely a fallacy. Consider: When water freezes, it expands about 10%, and thus floats. If you take 100ml of water and freeze it, you now have 110ml of ice. Put that ice in 900ml of water. You now have 1010ml in volume, with 10ml of that above the surface of the rest of the water. The volume below surface level is 1000ml. Let the ice melt. That 110ml of ice becomes 100ml of water. You have, drum roll please, 1000ml of water below the surface leve. So the water level doesn't change. What throws a monkey wrench into the works as far as ocean levels is *if* significant amounts of ice resting on land were to melt. But the Northern ice cap will have minimal effect on ocean level.

Also a good read is Michael Crichton's speech entitled "Environmentalism as Religion" at http://www.michaelcrichton.com/speeches/index.html . Read his book "State of Fear", a scathing indictment of the Enviro-Loonies and the pack of lies they masquerade as fact. Though it's a novel, the facts presented by Crichton are all footnoted so you can see his sources.
