Hi Hans,
You're correct - gun violence at schools is a recent phenomonon. As you said, gun safety was taught at home & in school. Now, violence is bombarded on children in TV, video games, etc and they become desensitized to the damage a gun can cause. Also, by not introducing children to guns and gun safety at a young age we keep them curious about them - there's a mystery about them and kids are amazingly curious about things of mystery.

All in IMHO naturally, and one other comment - when violence at a school is stopped by a citizen with a gun the media fails to mention it. When a law school in rural Va was attacked by a nut two students ran to their car, retreived the guns the "Gun-Free" zone mandated they not bring to school and used them to subdue the maniac. But 99.9% of the media fail to mention this. I wonder why? Doesn't fit their personal agenda - and they're not professional enough to keep their personal feelings out of it - even though they say the contrary.

Yup. The gas thing has always been that way, but we
used to use mega gallons per flush - why not? We have
plenty of water in most areas.

And guns? I'm not making this up. When I was a kid,
we used to bring guns to school to work on them in
shop class. Rifles were somewhat common in lockers,
as kids liked to go hunting after school. And gun safety
class was mandatory in 6th grade. Everybody's folks
had guns around the house. Our entry way coat closet
had a .22 rifle and 12 guage shotgun. As a kid we knew
not to touch them.

Guess what. I never heard of ANY gun related violence
in or around area schools until the last decade or so.

Damn liberals don't know when to keep the weapon in
the holster.......

gunperson".
