I must admit to making the same observations that Jim did when I drove my first NSX. It was 1993 and I rode to the dealership in my dad's 1992 Accord. There were so many similarities between the cars that it really soured the drive.
I drove a black Mondial T coupe 30 minutes later and finally, my heart rate increased. Talk about a major difference in experience...

Without a doubt, the NSX's powertrain is quite bland compared to the competition...
But a well respected enthusiast claimed that the feel of an NSX is superior to a C5, E46 M3, 996 Carrera.....the chassis and steering feel he regarded as better. Charles says the NSX is the easiest car ever to get in and get comfortable with the limits right away...
If true, coupled with the excellent daily driver abilities.......it's a worthy car for that role. A '99 Zanardi would make an excellent D.D. if it didn't cost so much.
