Probably not quite that easy. I have a feeling it went something like  
this... They ( Toyota ) had to find Ford dealerships in key markets whose  
principal 
also held Toyota dealerships i.e. the dealer where I worked. My  apologies 
for leaving that detail out but for the sake of keeping the story  brief and on 
track I omitted it. I suspect Toyota made an offer they couldn't  refuse - so 
to speak.
 
The dealership at which I worked is not owned by Ford, so I highly doubt  
they had ( have ) any knowledge of the event.
