Well.... VERY exciting, last night be be able to transfer the last of the
money over to the account of the chap I am buying the '78 308 GTB from!
It has taken me a month, 2 prized motorcycles sold, 1 car sale and a bank loan on my land for half the price..and I have done it.
I could/should have borrowed the money and finished the building of my small house.... but you can drive a house:)
Actually... a good friend has got sick of me going on about the car and has lent me the last 5 grand (NZ)... quote... "I am sick of you just talking about how about I will lend you the money to get it here NOW" lol Good friend ha??? I have told her she has bought the rights to the passenger seat any time she likes!! And I have insisted that for that kindness she will have to get behind the wheel at least once:) She is only 23 so imagine the conversation with guys her age when she throws this into a conversation on cars "oh yeah I have driven a Ferrari" the looks on the faces will be classic.
So in 24 hours I have another friend driving me the 180 miles to get the car and bring it back...
At age 38 I have finally done what I have been dreaming about for 23 years off and on and the past 8 years consistantly.
I don't think it's going to seem "real" to me until I get it home and in the wharehouse (no garage at home yet) and I can sit back and stare at it for a few days.
I kinda think I will be the only person in my small seaside tourist town to own a Ferrari.... a Rolls Royce AND live in a small caravan!!! lol
