Gavin notes "Headlamp will be dirty contacts through lack of use... he had
used the lights twice in 7 years!!! lol"
Hello Gavin - those lights and all the monkey motion may need some service too. To get to the motor (usually ok) and the actuating arm - oil-lite bushings (made of unobtainium usually NOT ok) you have to remove the radiator hot air ducts on top of the fender. Very carefully.
The actuating arms may, just may, not have any free travel adjustment. The heim joints, or otherwise known as spherical rod-ends, show no thread where the joint enters the aluminum arm. Therefore, when the lamps are raised, the little heim joints jamb the actuating arm over center ruining the oil-lite bushings and the nylon light box axel bushings the lamp box rotates on.
The fix - remove the actuating arm, cut about 1/2 inch off of it, reinstall and allow just a tiny bit of jamb rather than the old full force over center binding jamb.

Good luck.
