You only get lucky once!

Don't press your luck

My bet you did not have a fire extinguisher with 100' of the car when you
did this
And you did it inside so that if the car went up so did your house (bonus)

Others have not been so lucky!

Well I have the car back together after having the exhaust pipe cracked
right through (rusty) on the first drive home!
It was the last 2.5 inches where the front 4 headers come into one, then
their is a short 2.5 inch straight bit and a flange that mates to the flange

and pipe going to the muffler... well that straight bit was stuffed.... and
it had been wraped in exhaust tape and wire to "fix" it some time in the
past...

I cut the bit of pipe right out and welded a new bit to the flange off the
car then gas welded the overlaped pipe back on the the end of the headers...

Most Ferrari owners would have had a screaming apoplictic fit at the sight
of me with a oxy aceteline flame under the car and within a foot of the gas
tank!!!
But it was ok as I was very carefull and had wet rags over all bits that
might have either got damaged or blowen up :)

It felt good to do some work on the car to reward it for the fun I had on
the drive home.

QUESTIONS.

Can anyone help me source a new rubber flap the folds down from around the
gas cap when puting petrol in the car?
I have one bit it is almost in two parts.

I am also after one or two new or second hand 308GTB 1978 type windscreen
wiper arms.. can anyone help with those?
One of mine is totally incorrect and the other one is missing it's little
cover over the nut. Are they from some other more common Italian car
also???

I am still looking at the car in the shed and it looks like a picture in a
magazine... not like a real car... it's going to take some getting used too
:)

Regards
Gavin
