Not all things, but pretty much all things you register. Homes, cars,
boats, RVs, etc.

Of course some states do this but just don't call it a property tax -
they just charge you $400/year for your license plate. Our plate renewal
is $30/year, but my annual property tax on the Diablo is almost $4k. Our
current governor promised to try to get rid of automotive property tax
in favor of an increased sales tax, but having held my breath for that I
got tired of passing out. And the property tax virtually disappears
($13) once the car is 15 years old, so my TR bill is less than a nice
lunch.

The only plus to SC is a $300 cap on sales tax for automobiles, so my
sales tax on the Diablo was $300, as opposed to the Texan I bought it
from who paid about $12k in sales tax when he bought it (used) before
me.

Charles - I am not familiar with this type of legalized thievery - does
the tax man assess a value yearly to all things of value - similar to a
yearly probate or just your planes, trains, boats and automobiles - and
of course, your abode.

God I love it when politicians say the rich have to pay their "fair
share."
Wonder how Gore's VP hopeful is doing with his cute cottage?

Wonder how Gore is doing with his monthly energy bill? heh heh
