Hey Doug: From what I remember, Tripps was in the 1st row but got a poor start.
He was trying to catch up when Ricardo cut Jim Clark, who were both ahead of
Tripps, off just before Lesmo curve. Clark swerved to aviod the Rodriguez
Ferrari and into Tripp's path. Tripps clipped clark's rear tire sending him up
an outside berm and into the crowd, killing himself and 15 spectators. Later,
Clark was charged with neglient homicide by the Italian police, but the charges
were soon dropped. Correct me if I'm wrong on any of this, it happened 45 years
ago and what's left of the old brain 'ain't what she used to be'.

Yer pal, Ferrari Bubba

Wasn't Rodriguez leading Hill at some point in the race and Hill couldn't get
around him. Then there was a big wreck and pictures caught the rookie Rodriguez
gawking at the carnage as Hill, eyes straight ahead, blasted by him for the
points and championship.
