That might be okay but since I use office laptop computers for almost
everything, and we have a strict rule about adding non-approved accounts,
software,
etc. on company equipment I'm not sure that it would comply with the rules
in any event.

I guess, as the "boss" I could do anything I really wanted in reference to
that specific rule but there is the old military officer in me that says that I
should not do anything that I don't permit others to do. Probably an
anachronism, but I guess my moral code doesn't evolve rapidly enough to address

current societal norms. I think you may notice that when I'm using another
computer as a "guest" the verbiage is not there and that is okay as all of the
folks that work for us, and the partners agree that anything that is someone's
personal equipment should not be subject to our scrutiny unless it brings
discredit upon us, and/or damages the credibility of the individual involved.

Perhaps I should have just waited and accumulated all of the responses and
recognized them in a single e-mail but if someone takes the time out of their
busy schedule to answer my questions or to help me out with their advice I
think etiquette requires individual "recognition".

I've tried to limit any submissions when I'm not on a guest computer to
avoid irritating or aggravating listmembers with the long trailers while still
trying to be a full participant. I guess when I get a chance to just bring a
personal laptop with me or leave it at the office for things such as this and
solve the problem, though it would still go out of the office "IP" address and
tangle things up in any event. Hopefully I can get the list's indulgence and
forbearance and I'll be as considerate as I can to minimize the irritant
factors.
