Gotta question/observation ya'll might be able to shed some light on for
me -
I've been trying to sell a 89 Ford Van with a Wheelchair lift for a few months - it's limited market, older van but in excellent condition. I've advertised in the paper, local trading post, a Handicapped Dealer Newsletter and Auto Trader.
Had one really good prospect -- but his wheelchair wouldn't work with my lift - and the others were mostly people who called to get details and before they even look at it they want to know if I'll lower the price. Seems a little forward to me. I don't mind talking price but these people never even looked at it to know how reasonable the price was already.
The worst part was after talking for 1/2 hour I never hear from them again. Are there that many lonely people out there?

Well if this is true you'd think the wreck would have been more exciting. He could have driven the off a bridge while on fire, or wrecked into an orphanage while being carjacked by a midget or attacked by a boa constrictor. Running into a piece of concrete in a parking lot is pretty boring.

Lashdeep,
That is the exact same thing I noticed! I honestly was wondering if this
entire thing is just some viral web advertising, created on purpose. The
apparent damage to the car is what $100K - $200K at most and everyone on the
planet (that would possibly be interesting in seeing this movie) has already
watched a video clip of it many times on there PC and on the news. Sounds
like a very effective new form of commercial to me.

Why did the photographer behind the jersey wall not flinch when the car hit?
Am I missing something or was it staged for the filming of the movie?

While ABS can work wonders, it still cannot defeat the laws of physics. At a high enough speed, the tires will slip even if you're not hitting the brakes. For example, have you ever had the front end wash out when hitting a patch of ice?
In the video, assuming that he did hit the brakes, it appears that he had way, way underestimated the upcoming corner, so his entry speed was far in excess of what it should have been. He cranked in plenty of steering lock, but too little too late.

Finally saw the video clip What an idot! But why didn't the ABS kick in and allow him to steer away? Or did the tires break traction at that speed with the surface being as it was there fore not allowing the ABS to work?
