This resulted in rapid bore & ring wear, and
increased oil consumption followed. All engines
affected by this recall were replaced by the factory with replacement motors.

It has been my experience that all 2-valve 308's
burn a nominal amount of oil... more when the
revs are higher. At a track event, I would have
to add half a quart after approx 80-100 miles of
track time. In street driving, I'd typically add
about a quart every 1500 miles. This covers both the injected and carb models.
