Most likely the tracked car unless it had a problem with the transaxle
previously would not have the new 512 carrier unless he had problems and
being a tracked car it leaves it to speculation.

The TR (and 512TR) differential carriers are multi-piece weldments. The
512M carrier is one piece. I asked several Ferrari mechanics, whose
opinion I value, whether it is necessary to replace the original style
carrier with the 512M and they said that unless the vehicle was really
beaten on (drop clutch starts, etc.) that it wasn't needed. The fact
that the car you're interested in was tracked would change the equation
a bit. Does it have the 512TR or the 512M carrier?
