Gavin notes "I gave the car a good clean and in the process found "Made in
Taiwan" on the mirrors!!!! ?|"
Hoo Haaa Gavin - aint it a ball? Getting used to the clink clink when shifting? Man, I love that sound.
So the mirrors had Taiwan on them eh? Wait till you take a close look at your tool kit - India.
In 1999 when we were at the factory I asked one of the people there why they had put cheap tools made in India with chrome peeling from the screw driver in the earlier cars - his reply was - well, back then we were a small company and couldn't concern ourselves with luxury as we do now - besides, you aren't supposed to do any work on the car yourself - take it to an authorized dealer. heh heh

PS - you may want to check out the accelerator pedal box for lubrication. Ours was so stiff it took two feet - turns out the original grease had gone pink and was hard as a brick. I bet the same problem happens to the window winders - But NEVER take one of those apart unless you absolutely need to - that picture hanging wire goes everywhere. Just a few shots of motorcycle chain lube does the trick
