Did a drive in the weekend and at the end worked out that I have done
exactly 1000 miles in the 308GTB since I picked it up on the 9th of March.
It's been a good 1000 miles... only a rusted exhaust pipe I fixed and a new pressure cap was all I needed to do... but I also replaced the chrome horse on the tail and got a new rubber gas flap and pedal rubbers and personal plates "1 GTB 1" in red:)
On Sunday I had the car get a little out of shape for the first time... tight up hill left hander... second gear 5500ish revs and a few bumps in the road made the back end slide out a little under power... but just backing off the throttle a little bought it back in line again.
I still have not really come to terms with finally owning a Ferrari. Still seems sureal.
I watched a F1 GP last night for the first time since getting the car... and I looked for the prancing horse on the red cars with a little more of a smile on my face than normal!! :))
I gave the car a good clean and in the process found "Made in Taiwan" on the mirrors!!!! So I am ordering some Vitaloni California mirrors asap.
I have found them new from an Italian motorcycle parts supplier for $90US a set which seems cheaper than the couple of Ferrari parts places I looked at...
Quick question.... was the accelerator pedal just bare painted metal from the factory?
