Right, BUT, the plastic one can be reshaped by heating
and massage.  The glass one probably can't.  I suggest
that you continue with the heat-gun idea.  You may
even be able to save the upholstery.  After all, it
heat-deformed with the upholstery in place!

BTW, if you DO get the shape back, you can also
reinforce it with fiberglass (or something) and
probably ward off future sags.
