Haha...funny conincidence. Dash is being recovered anyway...covering is
already removed. Will try heat and massage tomorrow...i might do some work
on the dashboard as well.

Right, BUT, the plastic one can be reshaped by heating and massage.  The
glass one probably can't.  I suggest that you continue with the heat-gun
idea.  You may even be able to save the upholstery.  After all, it
heat-deformed with the upholstery in place!

BTW, if you DO get the shape back, you can also reinforce it with fiberglass
(or something) and probably ward off future sags.
