Yes and Ken you couldn't be more correct. The government here wants no
personal freedom, is anti-car, and wants everyone on public transport EVEN
THOUGH
public transport is a shambles which is why it isn't used more here. When I
drove to London on Friday I would have much preferred the train due to traffic
and the rain but a train ticket would have cost me DOUBLE what the cost of
driving was. (even with the tax's).

That said I would still buy a diesel regardless because for an every day car
the torque is fantastic and even if I was paying US prices for fuel, you can't
beat 40+mpg in a German luxury car! I drive 1000 miles a week on business and
instead of having to fill up the car every two days its about every 4 days.
Little things like that add up. The CO2 is debatable but regardless the new
diesels put out SIGNIFICANTLY less CO than a few years ago. So if there is just
a
chance it is causing harm, with the amount I drive at least I am doing less
harm (for what that is worth...)

Diesel Ferrari

>From the FOC comes reports of a Diesel Sports Racer testing at Fiorano that
runs on Bio-Diesel. Thought to be set to run in LMP2 at Le Mans next year the
car has been outsourced to a UK builder using a modified Alfa engine rebadged
as a Ferrari (the Alfa 2.4 JTD engine). Its expected to put out 400hp. A
picture of the car is featured in the latest FOC UK newsletter.....
