The 1993 Corvette used a ZF sourced tranny. It was ZF, not GM that chose not to sell parts. The later B-W/Tremec box *is* repairable. One of the reasons that GM changed to it....

A friend has a 1993 Corvette with a 6 spd and virtually nothing is available for that gearbox either. IIRC, he told me to meet emissions, you are required to shift to 2nd by 25mph or the shift indicator (commonly referred to as a rev limiter) shuts you down.
