I do not hink he meant the material dictated the parts being interchangeable or not. If the wheelbase is 4 inches longer, it stands to reason that no body panels sans front lid may fit. If a certain part is made in a lighter, composite material, the hinges and mounting may be designed for that weight, and not suitable for heavier materials.
