Dan Gurney said that in 1959, Ferrari was paying him $200 a month plus a share
of his winnings?to drive both F1 and Sports Cars for the factory. Dan asked the
'Old Man' for a raise, and was told NO! That's why he went to BRM in 1960. Did
anyone else out there see Dan in the BRM in the 1960 USGP at Riverside in 1960?
Security back then? LMFAO! Just walk into the pits for pictures and autographs.
We never had any trouble at the Long Beach races either.

Yer pal, Ferrari Bubba

I just wish I were driving! i would drive like Nuvolari! rain or
shine, I would flail my hood!! Drivers then would
race for less than what you would probably pay to get into a gp
today! Those
were the glory days!, my grandfathers years and fading fast into memory!

Rob
a true tifoso!

On a side note I am decidedly an old timer and always hoped for an
older GT car (and still do) However
after seeing the ultimate factories show again on
NGC........................

I would sweep the floors there............ for free!!

Stll like the old lever though.....
