I've got just under 91K on my Shitbox (TM) 308. Engine was completely rebuilt
(incl. new[used] block) at 69K. Victim of electrolysis.

Never had any problem with the tranny. Shifts easily. When cold, I blip the
throttle during 1-2 and 2-3 shifts and exert moderate pressure on the shifter.
99 times out of a 100, it slips right into gear. As a rule, I don't try
downshifting while moving until the engine is warm. When warm, I still use
moderate pressure, but no blipping required. Shifts up or down with no problem.

Of course, I live in sunny San Diego County, so it never gets that cold down
here.

I've run Neo Synthetic Gear Lube, 75W-90 in the tranny for the last 40K+ miles.
Recommended by the mechanic who rebuilt the engine. According to the label,
it is good for GL-3 through GL-6 (find that hard to believe, but nothing
succeeds like success).
