I would think driving a GT that is so brutal and loud would get tedious after a while.

But I've never had the pleasure to drive one so I'm just "assuming". ;-)
Surely that noise would get old after a while - sweet as it surely is -- and the suspension was probably pretty hard as well.

But for 20 minutes it would be a hellofa ride! Of course, coming to a full stop and running thru all the gears up to redline would probably restart the clock
;-)

Oh, he loves it. Since it was his friend that owned the cars, he got his
choice of cars. He loves that GT. However, it is not a stock GT. It has
had quite a bit of work done on it and they believe it is in the 700hp
range. I can tell you this, the 360 couldn't keep up when he would really
get on the GT. And even being a block or two behind him, I could still
easily hear the GT. It sounds great being behind that car when it is really
getting after it. I was really hoping we would switch somewhere during the
day, but he wouldn't give up the GT and to be honest, I was still in heaven
driving the 360 around. The owner loves the GT (from a power, performance,
and raw style point of view) but prefers the 360 from a beauty, general
drivability, and reaction point of view. My friend totally chooses the GT
in every category over the 360. He says that the GT feels like a race car
on the street (just brutal), and the 360 feels more refined.

Dave,

How did your friend like the Ford GT?

To those in the know, THAT is the car to drive.

:)

I have to share this story.

Ok, so last night I get a call from a friend of mine that has some other
well off friends. Anyway, one of these friends is having a photo shoot
done
with some of his cars and he is looking for some trust worthy drivers to
move the cars around from location to location. One of the cars that
needs
to be driven is a 2003 Ferrari 360 Spider. I met the guy that owns these
cars a year or so ago and he knew that I also owned a Ferrari, so I got
the
Ferrari and my buddy got to drive a 2005 Ford GT all day. We left Jenks
(a
south Tulsa suburb) and had to drive to Skiatook lake (way North West of
Tulsa) and then into Collinsville (way North of Tulsa) and back to Jenks.
So, somewhere just over 100 miles total driving. WOW! After the first 4
miles or so I found sport mode and then I could step out the back end on
demand. We were running late for the shoot, at one point I was following
the GT and I was running 145mph on a two lane headed out to the
lake. WOW,
WOW, WOW! I am so in love with this car! I now have a bad case of the
gotta haves. One mistake was that they told me that it goes in for new
tires next week, so feel free to use them up some more. Oh, my God, was
this so much fun! Stepping out the back end on demand and having a blast.
What a day. However, we did get busted in the park at the lake for doing
25mph in a 15mph zone. I laughed so hard I almost peed my pants. The old
fart park ranger finally just got mad and walked off without writing us a
ticket or anything. It was great! I was handed the keys around 8:30 this
morning and finally parked it around 2:00 this afternoon.

I have attached a picture of the two cars and I hope it comes through.

The only negatives I had were: the heater didn't work at all (it was 50
degrees when we started this morning). It is a 6 speed manual car (not
F1)
and the shifting was actually kinda sloppy. Is this a trait of the modern
manual cars? I swear that my Mondial will shift faster and more positive
than that 360 does. And the passenger's side window rattled up against
the
top somehow. But, when the top was down and the windows were down, there
was no noise.

But oh my, I love the power, the balance, the breaking, the overall
drivability, and the looks. Oh my what a day. The only way it could have
been better is if I could have driven it home and parked it in my garage.
Someday!

Daddy so wants!

Dave
