I'll leave that debate to someone who has actally driven them more than a few miles - my only seat time in a Ferrari is in a 87 328GTSi so my exposure to these supercars is limited to reading, TV and video.
However (saw that coming, right?) ;-) from what I've seen I believe some people feel all 3 of those would be poor choices for a long trip - which I believe is what you were saying - I do have a video of J Surtees test driving a F40 proves that out - if the audio is accurate. That sucker was pretty loud. While I enjoy the music a 12 cylinder (or 8, 6 or 4) makes, if it;s too loud it gets tedious. After 3 or 4 hours at least.

Well, like I said, I didn't get to drive it. But, I did get to set in it and it was very form fitting. I think it would be fantastic to drive for a long distance. It also had a nice stereo in it that, according to my friend, could easily overcome the engine.
Larry,
Saying the Ford GT is a poor long distance car is as appropriate as saying the F40 or Countach are poor long distance cars.
As for the Ford vs. Ferrari debate, I think the two cars cannot be compared,
and if possible both should be owned. A lot of people are of the mutually
exclusive mindset with european exotics and domestics, but I and a few
