Hey Ed: It was probably racial profiling. How low can those non-PC pigs go? The CHP officer told me that his call was that a carload of Mexicans had just robbed a liquor store with a gun?in Hacienda Heights where I lived and were headed south to La Habra. The clerk had jotted down the plate number and these poor Hispanics were in a lowrider Chevy with the same plate. That, to this dummy would constitute a FELONY car stop. If my feeble mind remembers correctly, a 211 p.c. (Armed Robbery) was considered a felony in Kalif. at that time. Let's see ... 5 of of our Friendly Hispanic brothers riding in a car that had just been involved in an Armed Robbery, and the two in the front seat refused the officers order to stay in the car, but jumped out and got the doors between them and the officer. What do you want, Give them the key to the city? Oh, I forgot ... the driver crouched down behind his door and appeared to be reaching for something in his pants. The officer fired 1 round and missed the supposed threat You know, Ed ... it's easy to 2nd guess while your behind the?safety of your keyboard, but we had an old saying in 'them thar' days. It went, "Better to be judged by 12 than be carried by 6. Get it? Just thought you and the other Listers wanted to know the whole story. BTW, the driver and front passenger were convicted of?armed Robbery and went to prison. The other 3 were never charged because the D.A. couldn't tie them into the robbery. They were just?riding in the car afterwards. ?I'm sure that you still view our actions as police brutality and harassing the poor Mexican-American community. I may be old now, but Ed, do you know if there's an age limit for sadistic monsters like me to give waterboarding demos in Baghad? I get hard just thinking about it! Good thing you were able to hold all those horny buggers at gun point. :-)? I'm not even going to ask what the one did that required a shot to be fired!! In my 31+ years carrying my PPK, it's been drawn once, no shots fired. Book 'em Dano --? Hi Guys Reading through this thread has made me curious as to whether any of you??has ever needed to use your weapon in a true self defense situation? It's funny, but up here in the Northeast, I don't think that I know more than maybe one person who carries a weapon regularly other than my friends who are cops.??Maybe I hang out in all the wrong places, but this whole area,??New York City included, is a comparatively low crime area and the number of incidents between strangers is fairly rare.??I just wouldn't think that carrying would be a big necessity. BTW, I'm asking just because I'm curious.??I'm a big proponent of the??2nd Amendment and I don't have any issues whatsoever with people's desire??to own and carry guns.?? I do have a little bit of experience with??guns in that I'm a former recreational trap shooter and did get trained for a??pistol permit several years ago, handling a variety of pistols.
